AUTUMN OF LUDD: The IRL Spaces Tour

“The Summer of Ludd: 8 days, 150 events, Free lunch for 250 people a day, no permits, in a historic heatwave, all organized without social media! The festival had a plurality of events from radical puppet theater, to teach-ins on Data Center resistance, to Jamborees and poetry workshops. Come learn from Luddite organizers about how they put it on, and how the Luddite critique can help us make sense of the AI bubble, alienation, and the surveillance state. The tour includes: organizing tactics for reclaiming public space, structures for large-scale projects, digital security + organizing without relying on platforms, dealing with journalists, tactical playfulness, and base-building for a popular movement against Big Tech. They will also be grounding us in the historical Luddites, textile workers who were against “machines harmful to commonality” at the turn of the industrial revolution. FREE PUBLIC PARTICIPATORY!
